CTS’s Dynamic Spark Ignition enables the use of additional air for lean burn operation which changes the conventional operating methods and allows a wider operating window. With ulta-lean air fuel ratios, in excess of 30:1, engine operational strategies become much broader. The main ingredient, once you have the DSI operational is excess air, which can be supplied by superchargers or turbochargers. The “lean” is adding air; lots of air.
