The CTS Dynamic Spark Ignition System (DSI) is capable of efficiently igniting almost any fuel. The longer duration of the DSI system virtually guarantees that an ignition event will occur and that a fuel/air pocket capable of sustaining combustion will be contacted. Because combustion is much more efficient, fuel quality is less important. DSI has been tested on a large number of engine types with a variety of fuels and shown to be less susceptible to fuel quality than any other ignition system. As an example, our experience in military UAV engines burning JP-8 fuel in a spark ignited engine has proven to be quite significant.
